Some heroes seem like they are more geared to spec into one stat category than others, Hulk to melee, Thor to heroic, etc. They designed an entire moveset for Hulkbuster when all you really need to do is go into Hulkbuster, use his missiles barrage 2-3 times, and get out because playing inside Hulkbuster does not feel good.īut wait, I’m not done! Iron Man is the flimsiest hero by far and has practically no healing abilities compared to the other heroes.
It feels very weird to go from the incredibly nimble Iron Man to this big Hulk-like monstrosity, as that’s not why you play the character. Hulkbuster: Look, Hulkbuster as an ultimate is very cool in theory, but less cool in practice. Aiming is terrible and its cooldown should be up like every ten seconds for how useless it is, but it’s far longer than that usually.

Thor can clear a room full of enemies with his and Iron Man has this horribly unwieldy beam that lasts two seconds and can maybe kill a single enemy if he’s lucky. Unibeam: Easily the worst assault heroic in the game. You can create a dome of protection which is situationally okay for certain activities but generally not very useful with how much you need to move around in combat.

There’s an upgrade that lets you stun enemies with it, but it flings them so far away you really only have a chance to chase down one or two to finish them. I don’t like any of Iron Man’s heroic abilities.Īrc Overload: The main purpose of this ability appears to be to give you “unlimited ammo” for your weapon of choice, but I rarely run out of that anyway so it seems a bit useless. Then there’s his Heroic ability kit which may be the worst aspect of the character. The same goes for higher end gear perks which will start applying bonuses to only one type of weapon (Black Widow’s guns have this problem a little bit too, but not to this extent). So I have bonuses applied to my lasers across three different skill columns right now, but if I switch to the other two, I would have to manually go into the second skill tree and switch all those bonuses to then apply to rockets or repulsors as well, which you’re never going to do, so you really just stick with one weapon type most of the time, limiting your build. Because in the next set of skill trees, you have to pick between giving upgrades to one weapon at a time over the other two. But while you can simply flip through the weapons with the D-pad, that doesn’t really solve the problem.
